Las Vegas: A week of NYE openings & parties

Ten things to do in Las Vegas for New Year's If you’re headed out to Las Vegas this weekend for any of the celeb-studded New Year’s Eve parties, you don’t want to miss Richard Abowitz’s “A Guide to the Strip: New Year’s Eve.”

Abowitz is the author of the Los Angeles Times’ Las Vegas blog the Movable Buffet. His guide outlines all the parties and shows that he’ll be attending and offers more news about events going on this week.

Keep your eye on the Movable Buffet this weekend as he attends the opening of Kerry Simon’s CatHouse at the Luxor, Jay Zee’s 40/40 Club at the new Palazzo and back to the Bellagio for the opening of the Bank.

I’ll be checking back in with hopes that he’ll be showing pics from my favorite Vegas view — the Strip from the outdoor patio at the Mandalay Bay’s Foundation Room.
