Las Vegas – Mandalay Bay (relatively) cheap this week

Who cares that Valentine’s Day isn’t on a weekend this year. Play hookie Friday morning and surprise your sweetie with a quickie to Las Vegas. Mandalay Bay has its rooms on sale all week.

Deal: Rates start at $110 midweek this week — including Valentine’s Day (Thursday). Friday night goes up to $160 and Saturday is $200.

Ask for promotion code “PWARM12-P2.” All promo rates are pre-tax, but include an upgrade to a suite (based on availability). The “Winter Warmth” special also offers 20% off of Primm Valley Gold Club rates and a free rental car, $30 off “Mamma Mia!” tickets and a free airline ticket on your next trip to Mandalay Bay, if you book three nights through the Archer Travel Group. Rules and restrictions apply. Next week prices range from $130-$260/night (pre-tax).

Tip: “Mamma Mia!” is celebrating its five-year anniversary on the Las Vegas Strip. Las Vegas residents can buy one ticket and get the second one free through March 30, 2008. (Limit four tickets per person).

Why Go: The rooms have recently been renovated. I hear the new suites rival the rooms at TheHotel.

Why Not: Red Rock Resort and Casino is also pretty cheap this week. Their rooms start at $125/night (pre-tax) Wednesday and Thursday.
