L.A. Kings hockey: Dec. away games

Hey Kings fans. I know you think the Staples Center is all that — but get off your butts and support the L.A. Kings on their away games too. I took a look at their schedule and noted dates, cities and current airfare costs for the rest of December’s games.

All prices are round trip and include taxes and fees. Hotel and National Hockey League tickets are not included. Note: Sometimes I had to choose a slightly higher rate (and early flights) to get to the game on time. If you can leave the day before, you’ll probably fly with less stress in case there are winter weather delays.

Tip: You can also save money by booking flight and hotel packages with booking sites such as Last Minute Travel, Orbitz and Travelocity. In these cases it’ll take some flexibility with your schedule to get a flight that will get there in time. I looked up the Detroit Red Wings game as an example and it turned out to be cheaper if you got the package.

Dec. 22 Kings at Predators (Nashville-BNA)
$444 on Southwest via Airfare Watchdog (Dec. 21-24)

Dec. 29 Kings at Avalanche (Denver-DEN)
$311 nonstop on United (Dec. 29-30)

Dec. 30 Kings at Blackhawks (Chicago-ORD)
$391 on Northwest via Side Step (Dec. 30-Jan. 1)

Note: I used Kayak and Airfare Watchdog to search for flights. I spot-checked with Side Step and listed the cheaper fare.
