Knott’s, Legoland free for fire heroes

Knott's Berry Farm police and fire salutePolice officers, firefighters and rescue workers get in free to Knott’s Berry Farm now through Dec. 21.

The 15th annual event entitles emergency personnel and a guest to free admission with the option to purchase up to six additional tickets for $12.95 each.

Proper identification — employee identification card, official badge or paycheck stub — along with a second photo ID is required.

Eligible personnel:
Police
Fire
California Highway Patrol
County Sheriff
District Attorney
U.S. Forest Service
California Department of Forestry (and other wild land fire organizations)
Correctional facilities
U.S. Marshals
Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives
Federal Bureau of Investigation
Department of Homeland Security
International Border Patrol
Police and fire reserves and volunteers (with proper ID)

Ineligible personnel:
American Red Cross
California Conservation Corps
Private security firms

Disneyland and Universal Studios Hollywood are offering similar freebies for emergency personnel.

    Free admission for any active, full-time County personnel and spouse (or one guest).

    A maximum of TWO (2) complimentary admissions will be issued.

    Employee must be an active State of California County employee referencing Child Support, Children & Family, Mental, Human, Health, Public Social Services. This includes county Health Care agencies (not HMOs).

    Employee must present a state of California County Photo ID. The ID must have the county name, department name, and county seal (see attached examples) having “child support, children & family, mental, human, health, public social services” phrases stated ON the valid photo ID. Pay stubs accompanied by photo ID are acceptable in cases that a county ID is not available.

    Up to six (6) additional tickets may be purchased at the price of $12.95 each.

    PHOTO ID IS ABSOLUTELY REQUIRED AND MUST SPECIFICALLY REFERENCE COUNTY EMPLOYMENT.

    Valid November 17 through December 21, 2007.
