JetBlue 1-day sale: $29 from Long Beach or Burbank

JetBlue Sample Sale

Ready for some spontaneous trip-shopping? JetBlue has an aisle-full of cheap flights for your imminent consideration. If you can fly from Long Beach or Burbank on a Tuesday or Wednesday, you’ll want to snap up a discount fare ASAP — and definitely by sale’s end tonight.

Deal: With JetBlue’s “Sample Sale,” pay as little as $29 (pre-tax) for one-way flights. From Long Beach, the $29 rate is available for flights to Las Vegas (LAS), Oakland (OAK), San Francisco (SFO) and San Jose (SJC). For the $39 fare, you can get to Sacramento (SMF) or Seattle (SEA), and the $49 sale fare will have you to Portland, Ore. (PDX) or Salt Lake City (SLC).

From Burbank (BUR), the $29 sale fare is available for Las Vegas. See the “Sample Sale” page for other fares available.

When: Book these sale fares for travel on Tuesdays and/or Wednesdays; for most of the destinations, travel must take place between April 30 and June 10, 2009. You have until 11:59 p.m. MST tonight (10:59 p.m. PST) to reel in the discounted rate.

Tested: I just checked Long Beach to Vegas, and the $29 sale fare becomes just under $40 after taxes; you’re looking at $79 for a round-trip. I’ve been on the lookout for Portland flight deals, so I tested out availability for that destination in mid-May. After taxes, the journey from Long Beach comes close to $60 each way, or $119 round-trip.
