Spectacular Caribbean beaches, rich cultural history and affordable, all-inclusive resorts—if you can find a well-priced flight, it’s tough to argue with Jamaica. It’s also a great place to get married or rock steady to live reggae music. Montego Bay and Ocho Rios are the island’s most popular beach areas, while the capital Kingston is a large urban city.

The Deal: Air Jamaica flights to Montego Bay, Jamaica are on sale at Expedia. The promotion features a trick budget travelers know well—fly on Tuesday or Wednesday. Book a flight package that includes a hotel for the best deal.

When: Book by March 18, 2007 for travel until June 27, 2007.

Details: The promotion advertises loss-leader fares as low as $204 roundtrip, but that’s if you depart from cities closer to the Caribbean like Miami or Fort Lauderdale. Flights from the West Coast on a Tuesday or Wednesday were more than $400. On Kayak.com, flying LAX to Kingston Thursday through Sunday returned a fare of nearly $800. Expedia offers 30% off select hotels, if you stay three nights. Note: High season in Jamaica runs through April, better bargains should appear in May and June. Be patient if calling to book: I was on hold for 15 minutes before a real person answered.
