Hotel Palomar Los Angeles, finding a deal and a good meal

Hotel Palomar Los Angeles in Westwood

Westwood has a new boutique hotel. That’s the cue for Bruin parents to run out and book up rooms at the Hotel Palomar for graduation dates. But what about the rest of us?

I haven’t seen a huge amount of buzz on Kimpton’s renovation of Westwood’s Doubletree Hotel, but HotelChatter was able to get a sneak peek (with video) at the eco-chic digs last week. Although the introductory rates are test-worthy, I’m even more interested in booking reservations at Blvd 16 and trying out the sustainable seafood menu options at the restaurant before I find out about the thread count of the sheets.

Have you dined or stayed at the Hotel Palomar? Did it meet your expectations.

Deal: Introductory rates start at $229 per night (pre-tax) but I tested the deal for this weekend and found that a deluxe king room with L’Occitane bath products and animal-print robes started at $249 this Friday night. They also boast such popular traits as being eco-friendly and pet-friendly. King spa suites (650 square feet) with Fuji soak tub are $429 this Friday night on the “Grand Opening” promo rates, pre-tax.

Connect/Disconnect: Hey business travelers, there’s free in-room Wi-Fi at the Palomar.
