So you’ve decided to go for it and book your trip to Hawaii. With such low airfares to the islands still available, who can blame you? If you’re open to exploring different areas while you’re there, listen up, as at least a couple of airlines are hoping to inspire you to shift you and your beach blanket to more than one part of the state during your stay.
Go! deal: Fly island to island on go! for as little as $45 (pre-tax) one way on some routes. How much do taxes and fees boost the price? I tried out a one-way trip from Honolulu, Oahu, to Hilo on the Big Island, and was given a base fare of $46.28 — $55.75 after taxes and fees.
When: This is valid for travel between now and Dec. 31, 2008, but you must book this by tomorrow (Wednesday, Nov. 19).

Hawaiian Airlines deal: Not to be outdone, Hawaiian Airlines has said, according to the Honolulu Advertiser, that it will match go!’s price. Plus, it is offering a deal of its own: HawaiianMiles members who book a round-trip journey between the mainland U.S. and Hawaii will receive a $100 “ECertificate” for use toward an inter-island flight with the airline.
When: Book by Dec. 12, 2008, for travel between now and June 4, 2009 (though you have until Dec. 10, 2009, to redeem your inter-island trip coupon).
