The Pope’s visit to Israel brough even lower fares for a lucky few. It turns out that ElAl had to add a few flights to bring pilgrims from Rome to Israel and return them after the visit. Rather than send empty planes in both directions, they found Israeli’s who did not mind missing the Pope’s visit (that pretty much covers 95% of the people) and sent them to Rome ahead of the Pope for a 1 week Roman Holiday. Price was under $200 RT.
