Google’s space explorer Sergey Brin; Flight Attendants exhibit; breakfast on Mt. Tam

View of Earth from a Suborbital Vehicle

Good morning travelers!

Space Travel | There’s good news for budget space tourists. Google co-founder Sergey Brin is traveling to space in 2011, and he’s created a club for others to do the same. Brin is the founding member of the Space Adventures’ Orbital Mission Explorers Circle, a program which allows individuals to reserve orbital space flights. There’s no word on what the final cost of the trip will be, but if you’ve got $5 million now, you can put that down as a deposit towards your future flight. As you know, Charles Simonyi spent $25 million on an orbital flight last year with Space Adventures.

Bay Area | Hike up Mount Tam for breakfast. The West Point Inn continues their summer tradition of cooking pancakes for those that hike in to get them. These special meals will occur monthly through October. Try a different trail each time. Cost $10. [Weekend Sherpa]

Local | The exhibit Brian Finke: Flight Attendants begins today at the Stephen Cohen Gallery and runs until August 2, 2008. Get a rare look at documentary-style photographs of workers in the airline travel industry. Admission is free, dark Sunday and Monday.
