Now you don’t have to remember the text message address for Google when you want to track your flight status. Google and FlightStats.com are working together to make finding real time flight status even easier.
Just type in the airline and flight number into the same old Google search box you use for everything else and get arrival and departure times straight back as search results.
In the picture above, I tested the JetBlue red-eye from Long Beach to New York. Click the title link in your search results and get taken to the FlightStats page for your requested flight which has even more detailed information.
There are lots of different ways you can check your flight status on the way to the airport. Here are four different ways you can check your flight status just with Google or FlightStats.com.
Google Search box
Google SMS
FlightStats.com
Mobile.flightstats.com
Have you used FlightStats Mobile? You can get all the typical arrival and departure information plus some really great additions like security wait times, weather reports and flight status by route, in case you don’t know the flight number. They also have airline information. I typed in SWA for Southwest Airlines and got their mobile website address as well as their reservations phone number and a link to seating options from SeatGuru.com.
I also used FlightStats Mobile to find airport info. I typed in LAX, clicked airport information and got a weather report, airport chatter reports about Ground Delay Programs and approximate security wait times listed terminal by terminal. There’s really no excuse for not knowing about flight delays anymore.
