The Getty Center is about to get extra-revealing, in more ways than one, so get your wits about you and put on your sleuthing shoes. On Sept. 27, 2008, the “Naked at the Getty Scavenger Hunt,” put on by Watson Adventures, will get you and your teammates working furiously among artworks to find some answers.
“A sultry dog whisperer? A cupid who pulls a Mike Tyson move? Mischief’s bear hide?” These are just a few nonsensical teasers to challenge your gray cells. Intrigued? You don’t need to know anything about art or the Getty Center to do well in the hunt, say the organizers. Despite the bare-naked theme, this two-hour event is rated PG-13 and costs $17.50 per person (plus parking). Teams consist of up to six people; if you arrive without a team, you’ll be matched up. These hunts sell out, so book soon.
Other upcoming scavenger hunts in Los Angeles include the “Murder at the Natural History Museum Scavenger Hunt” on Oct. 25 and Dec. 6; the “Hooray for Hollywood Scavenger Hunt” on Oct. 18, which will cover the Walk of Fame and the Chinese Theater, among other sites; and the “Downtown L.A. Movie Locations Scavenger Hunt” on Nov. 8.
Watson Adventures also hosts hunts in Boston, Chicago, Philadelphia and Washington, D.C. See the website for details.
