Gayot lists Top 40 restaurants in the U.S. — L.A. has five of them

Gayot, trusted for its restaurant reviews but not limited to just following culinary trends (they also cover hotels, travel and lifestyle topics), released its Top 40 Restaurants in the U.S. Los Angeles — where the Gayot headquarters is located — claims five spots on this list. Can you guess which of your favorite restaurants made the cut?

The other cities that had three or more restaurants to their credit were, to no surprise, New York, San Francisco, Las Vegas and Chicago.

Now, tell the truth, which of L.A.’s trendiest tables do you wish had made the list?

2117. At 2117 Sawtelle in W. L.A.; Chef: Hideyo — French/Asian Fusion. Food Amazing. Aprox. $27 tasting menu that includes two appetizers, main course and desert. Food always consistent. Best calamari in town. Best kept secret. Love it!

Carlitos Gardel’s Argentinian Restaurant. On Melrose in W. Hollywood. Amazing Argentinian beef w/ a great chimichurra sauce (garlic and parsley). The absolute BEST french fries in town w/ garlic and parsley. NOTHING BEATS THEM.
