Girlfriends, just book it! AND GET YOURSELF DOWNUNDER. I flew the inaugural Air NZ ‘Pinkflight’ last Feb, Akl to Sydney and it was a fab time had by all aboard. A total sellout that Air NZ had to upsize the aeroplane to a 747-400 on the route due to demand. Doing it again this year.A lot of effort had been expended by the airline to make us welcome. Much apreciated. My bitch, if I have one, is that the flight was way too short(only 3 hours). You’ll be lucky from SFO - 14 hours of fabulosity awaits you! Definitely, the best fun I’ve had flying in years. BTW, my partner is Star Gold - and as his partner, I get the same status recognition on NZ. All I can say to you North Americans is Air NZ, like NZ, is very much GLBT friendly…so a heartfelt welcome to our part of the planet. You’ll find us enlightened like Canada, Spain, UK, and the Low/ Nordic countries. Sadly Australia, like US, still denies GLBTs the right to marry/civil unionise….but change MUST,I hope, be just around the corner for you. So stay positive folks and agitate for what is a very fundamental human right. And don’t forget each and every one of you is a valuable. contributing member of our society. Is there a flight scheduled for 2009? If so how do I book?

re: Pink Flight 2009? Good question. Although you can find these words (and only these words) on the Air NZ webpage, I can not get a straight answer (no pun intended) from that airline.
I have written to them 2x, and each time they provide personalized responses, but never answer the question.

As promised, here’s my response from Air New Zealand. Unfortunately, not good news
“Dear Thomas,
Unfortunately we won’t be operating the Pink Flight ex San Francisco next year. With the rising cost of airfares and fuel impact it is very hard for us to make it a flight that provides a good enough return to the business, in the current environment. Our Auckland to Sydney Pink Flight will take place though so when you make your travel plans you may like to look at the possibility of connecting with this flight.
Kind regards,
Martina

Overwater bungalows, designed in the style of traditional island houses, are perhaps the most romantic and certainly the most intimate accommodations in the South Pacific. Over the water bungalows are popular on the islands of Maldives, French Polynesia, Bora Bora, Moorea and Tahit Overwater bungalows can also be found in the Cook Islands and are being added to resorts in Fiji.
Many resorts have both overwater bungalows and other room styles. The over water rooms are situated on stilts over a lagoon and most have have sundecks and platforms from which you can step off directly into the lagoon waters for swimming or snorkeling or to contemplate the sunset.
