Good morning travelers! It’s July 11 today—7/11. The first thing I think of is the craps table, but no, get your mind on Free Slurpee Day.

Freebies | Participating 7-Eleven stores are giving away free slurpees today between 7 a.m. and 11 p.m. Still hungry? The Fast Food Maven offers more fast-food freebies on her blog. After all, it’s Cow Appreciation Day too. Note: I couldn’t find phone numbers on the 7-Eleven store locator results, in case you wanted to call and find out if your local 7-Eleven is participating.

Local | How well do you know L.A. nightlife? Zagat’s 2008/09 Los Angeles Nightlife is a collection of more than 600 venues from wine bars to pool halls and all the hottest clubs in between. Did they miss one of your faves? Tell us which one. The guide’s sticker price is $15, but it’s $11 for subscribers.
