I was dubious about a blond James Bond. In fact I nearly didn’t go see “Casino Royale” because of the choice of star — but in the end I was so glad I did. Daniel Craig is powerful as 007 and I can’t wait to see “Quantum of Solace.” One of the other big draws of a 007 movie is the fun of finding out where in the world James Bond will take us this time. In “Quantum,” Bond goes to Austria, Chile, Italy, Mexico and Panama.
If you want to travel in the footsteps of 007, don’t miss Orbitz’s “Travel Like Bond” Web page.
Deals: Use promo code “Bond10″ to save 10% on hotels or use promo code “Bond75″ to get $75 off vacation stays of three nights or more. The “Travel Like Bond” page has destination suggestions tied to James Bond movies, like Austria and Tuscany, as well as locales closer to home, including Miami and Las Vegas. For the Bond deals, book by Nov. 16, 2008, for travel until Jan. 31, 2009.
‘Quantum of Solace’ adventures: USA Today writer Laura Bly connects actual scenes from ‘Quantum of Solace’ with the hotels and streets where Daniel Craig’s scenes were filmed. If you are headed over to Italy, Austria or San Felipe, Mexico, you’ll want to read “James Bond locations galore for your ‘Quantum of Solace’ journey” first.
Panama instead of Bolivia and Haiti: Are you sure you know what country you’re looking at? Nubricks has some great photos of movie locations. Read “7 ‘Quantum of Solace’ locations to die for” to find out how much it costs to stay in Bond’s Tuscan romantic hideaway.

Seen the movie. Not much plot. Over kill on the action. Expected better.

If you are looking for a headache then go see this movie. It is a very fast paced Loud randomly selected slide show. Each randomly selected unfocused jittery slide (to supposedly give the suggestion of movement and speed or something) lasts a few milliseconds. The slide show goes as follows: a man’s nose, shoe laces, a randomly selected ocean scene, a car’s tire, a leaf, someone’s ear, back of someone’s head, a car, a bridge, a ship’s propeller, and so on and on. Each slide does not even last long enough for you to actually see what the heck it is. This movie was not shot with a movie camera it was shot with a simple hand-held picture camera set on long exposure time and given to a camera-man with Turret syndrome who is also secretly suffering from a sever case of Parkinson’s disease. And if that was not enough they apparently hired a bunch of loonies and set them behind musical instruments and told them: “make the loudest noise you can make” and that is played as loud as possible through out the whole picture show so as to annoy the audiences even more.
The James Bond movies used to carry a prestige. One would watch them and laugh and shout: “Yea”, “Wow”, “That was amazing”, and so on. Now, they draw responses of “Good God when will this Loud trashy picture show end”, “if that is all they got I am leaving the theater”. Of course now a days almost all of the movies and TV shows and even documentaries follow the same blue print of shaky jittery fast changing slide show style video and loud noise to accompany their slide show. So loud that you can’t even hear or make out what the people in the so called “film” are saying as the slide show keeps presenting you with randomly selected and shuffled slides.

The only place Bond -or more correctly the cynical producers Broccoli and Salzman- are taking us yet again is for a ride. What a phony! What a bore!

The movie was a big disappointment, it didn’t have an iota of bond charm. It was a well crafted action movie but not a bond movie. Expected better. Highly Disappointment….!!!!

the movie was a bit boring, not nearly as good as Casino Royale, but still good, a few good laughs, and best of all, the great eye candy Daniel Craig provides. There’s something very exciting and very sexy about a James Bond flick…all the action and fast cars and great stunts and beautiful places, that no other film can produce.

I went with a group of 8 to 10 people and 9 out of 10 came out of it TOTALLY UNDERWHELMED. And you are talking about a group which is EASILY impressed and LOVES James Bond and its films. After Casino Royale which I thought was EASILY the BEST BOND film done yet, i was super ready for this film… Major disappointment
Group Consensus - Action wise, and stunt wise, very good and enjoyable. Special effects, great.
but the story is SOOOOOOO thin and poorly done that it was a disappointment. Characters were not developed. Quantam organization is stated that it is EVERYWHERE. they never developed the organization in the movie to give u a feel of its tentacles outside of one or two scenes. The main villan reminds you of an annoying bug u want to squash not one who should be feared.
Daniel Craig himself is OUTSTANDING in his role but this was a HUGE step back and this is not me but group consensus that only 2 out of 4 stars at the most. Bring back some of the Bondisms which were taken out that peple have come to expect. I dont anticipate buying this DVD

I like what they did to the new Bond. No more silly gadget-driven plot devices, no villain speeches, no out of this world schemes, no effete histrionics, and the women are treated somewhat more than toys.
Really people, I’d take this film over Bond films like Man with the golden gun or Octopussy.

I cannot believe that they are calling this a james Bond film. It has almost nothing of the many things I have always enjoyed about James Bond movies. The story, what story? No one knew what was going on or where it was going. The character - James Bond used to be this super cool guy who would come out of the ocean with a tuxedo on or something, always got the girl, was charming and tough at the same time. Now this new character and the way the movie is set up is completely out of the Bond context. Note to the producers - they tried to re-invent Coke and almost lost the company. This in my opinion is just the same. Big, big dissapointment - if I hear that the next Bond flic is the same format as this one, I, and everyone I know will not bother.
