We’ve been posting a lot lately about hotel deals currently rife in Las Vegas. Fortunately, the airlines seem to be conspiring to get you there on the cheap as well. Southwest Airlines has a 50%-off sale going, and a couple other carriers are offering competitive fares.
If it’s Southwest that’s calling you, act now: Its two-day sale ends Wednesday, Dec. 31.
Deal: Southwest Airlines’ “Viva Las Vegas!” sale offers flights for 50% off from departure points across the U.S. to Las Vegas (LAS). From Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), this means fares as low as $32 one-way, which comes to $90 total round-trip after taxes and fees.
When: Book by Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2008, for travel between Jan. 13 and March 11, 2009.
Note: We don’t think you’ll find a price lower than the aforementioned offer by Southwest (but if you do, please let us know in the Comments below). You may find, however, matching or nearly matching fares on a couple of other airlines. I just found an American Airlines round-trip between LAX and LAS in January for $90 total. On United Airlines, you can find the trip for $91 total.
Tip: Use a fare-comparison website such as Farecast or OneTime to check out the competing airlines’ fares for your preferred dates of travel. Note that the pages you’ll generate via this method do not include the current Southwest sale fare.
