Florida: Discount vacation homes in Orlando

Holiday Vacation Homes gallery Thinking of taking the kids to Florida this summer? For less than the price of some hotel rooms, you could rent an entire house. Heck, with budget rental rates like these, you could afford to take along the cousins and grandparents, too.

Deal: Holiday Vacation Homes arranges tourist rentals of private homes in Orlando subdivisions close to Walt Disney World Resort and other major attractions. All of the homes have a full-sized kitchen, washer/dryer, swimming pool, air-conditioning, cable TV, driveway, garage, three to six bedrooms and one or two bathrooms. Rental rates during June, July and August are $145-195/night (excluding taxes of 13%). Check-in is at the rental office in downtown Kissimmee, less than a half-hour drive from Orlando International Airport.

When: If you can wait to travel to Florida until September or October, rental rates for three-/four-bedroom houses drop to $100/$130 per night, respectively.

Caveat: A cleaning fee of $65-105 applies for stays of less than five days. The rental homes all have private swimming pools, but heating them entails a $25-35/night surcharge.

Connect: Internet access and computer rental are available for an additional $60/week.
