Fathers Day, take Dad to a Beverly Hills car show

Hotels frequently pull out all the stops for Mother’s Day. This year, the 88-room Luxe Hotel Rodeo Drive is sponsoring a car show in Beverly Hills sure to give dads a treat.

The Deal: The Luxe Hotel’s “Who’s Your Daddy?” package has rooms starting at $239/night and includes two welcome drinks this Father’s Day. When I checked reservations for the same rooms the weekend before, they were priced at $289/night before taxes ($333 all-in).

When: June 14 -18, 2007, based on availability.

Why Go: To see “The Concours D’Elegance” car show on Sunday, June 17 from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm. This year is the “Cars of California” theme and more than 100 private cars are expected to participate from convertibles to Woodies.

Why Not: Dad’s idea of Father’s Day might be to just get left alone. No honey-dos, no ties he’ll never wear, and no bad gadgets he doesn’t’ want.
