Exclusive: Legoland to add Land of Adventure

Legoland California will unveil expansion plans in the coming days for a new themed area of the Carlsbad amusement park, the Los Angeles Times has learned.

Land of Adventure, set to open in March 2008, will feature four new family attractions:

* Lost Kingdom Adventure – The park’s first dark ride
* Beetle Bouncers – A bounce and drop tower ride
* Cargo Ace – Kids pilot their own plane
* Pharaoh’s Revenge – Jump and “catapult” into a foam ball pit (hopefully parents get to make the plunge as well)

Lost Kingdom looks like the biggest addition — an interactive ride through ancient temple ruins where visitors blast targets with laser guns.

Screamscape reported rumors of the expansion last month, with a possible ground breaking this October.
