Eli Manning to Disneyland: “I’m going to … the Bahamas”

Super Bowl MVP Eli ManningSuper Bowl XLII champ Eli Manning, who said “I’m going to Disneyland” after the big game Sunday night, won’t be heading to the Anaheim theme park anytime soon, preferring a sunny vacation in the Bahamas over a parade with Mickey Mouse.

Post-Super Bowl air traffic congestion over Scottsdale, Arizona, forced the New York Giants quarterback to jettison his plans on Monday — which included a parade at Disneyland and an appearance on the “Late Show With David Letterman.”

After a ticker-tape parade along New York City’s “Canyon of Heroes” on Tuesday and a rescheduled Letterman appearance on Wednesday, Manning opted for a Bahamas vacation over a Disneyland visit.

Disney officials have been told not to expect a Manning appearance within the next two weeks — and even then it might be at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida, rather than at Disneyland in California.

Immediately after Sunday night’s game, the Super Bowl MVP recorded two television commercials — “I’m going to Disneyland” for West Coast audiences and “I’m going to Disney World” for the East Coast. Contractually, Manning needs to show up at only one of the two theme parks, according to Disney officials.

And where is the superbowl ?

In the region of Britain the BBC have put together a commentary on sport being the equivalent of a new belief system.

There have been a number of reporters and commentators on the recent events to make football ,soccer in the US, to be played away, at the stadium and in another country.

This is raised in the interests of keeping local ticket prices low but also fills stadiums across the world, convenient if you want to speak to them as well.

But the Six Nations Rugby has Jonny Wilkinson and football including Los Angeles Galaxy have David Beckham. Should we use the recent Nascar winners car to get to such events ?

Recently we had the Superbowl. Two teams with armour and approach, tactics and a half time performance. Not even Amy Winehouse has been able to compare in recent coverage.

Two teams, one season, a global audience and players from every field using all the attributes of every track and field event in atheletics known, not just the feet or passing back.

If in Europe there is football and Blair of Britain is popular due to his home town supporters club then Superbowl is somewhat larger and Nascar is a little more difficult to compete in than Formula One with its features that slow cars to the least competative, silencers were put on formula three thousand to keep them slower when the changes came in.

America, land of opportunity, change, commerce and football, rugby and soccer combined and then some.

    Global audience, Giants style.
