Krispy Kreme star doughnuts for voters with \

Good morning, travelers & voters! Still undecided or not sure where to go vote? Read our recent post, “Obama or McCain? Top 13 travel articles to help you pick your presidential candidate.” Full L.A. Times exit poll and presidential election news can be found at Campaign ’08. You’ll want to vote early so you can take advantage of local special offers and deals.

Update: Note that, due to a lesser known federal statute, it’s illegal to offer direct remuneration as an enticement to vote, so technically these incentives should be available to anyone who asks, not just voters.

Local deals for voters | Cash in on the fact that you voted [AP].

> Starbucks is giving out free coffee to voters Tuesday to anyone who asks (store locator).

> Krispy Kreme is giving away star-shaped doughnuts to those with an “I Voted” sticker (store locator).

> Ben & Jerry’s is giving away a free scoop, too (store locator).

> The beloved indie SoCal coffee house Groundwork (with locations in downtown L.A., Venice, Hollywood and Santa Monica) is also giving away a free cups of Joe on Nov. 4 and 5. Just bring in your ballot stub (cafe locations).

> Hungry for more SoCal deals? The O.C. Register’s Fast Food Maven has a list of these deals and more discounts for voters.

Tip: Not all of her deals are centered around the O.C., and make sure you check the comments section where readers are offering up other voting deals they’ve heard about.

What motivates you to vote, besides the prospect of free sweets and caffeine?

    Dear undecided Voter,

    Please vote.

In the final analysis this election has been fought on following emotional presumptions by the both campaigns.

    1. Presidential Temperament.
    2. Sound presidential Judgment.
    3. Meaningful plans, policies, and positions’
    4. Understanding and knowledge of workings in & around Washington.
    5. Vigor, wisdom and vision” for the future of our beloved Great-grand Nation.
    6. American Values, Virtues, Vastness, and Strong soul.
    7. Fear & hope & future & past.
    9. Culture unite and Culture Divide.
10.Tactics of tearing people down & showing past scars and Inspiring people up and fearing people away.
    11. Restoring Global standing and threatening global dominance.
    12. Building nation up all around and Scaring people away from the tickets.

As a Independent registered voter I have decided to vote for the Obama-Biden ticket. I am sure they will protect our national security, strengths, stamina and soul as well as rebuild our nation from the bottom up in all areas of need. The OBAMA-BIDEN ticket will restore our global standing with the use of maximum, firm international diplomacy and minimal force if and when necessary.

    Yours sincerely,

The idea of giving special promotions to voters has been found to be illegal. There are countless articles regarding this online today.

  4. rachel Says:

The “I Voted” sticker always does it for me.
Oh, and the fact that I can affect change by voting. That helps too.

  5. Nancy Luna Says:

I believe the Chipotle burrito freebie was tied to Halloween, not today’s Election.

Thanks Jen for the shout out.
