Doc Brown makes Simpsons Ride cameo at Universal Studios

Christopher Lloyd as Doc Brown in the Simpsons Ride at Universal StudiosChristopher Lloyd, the character actor who famously portrayed Doc Brown in the “Back to the Future” movies, makes a cameo appearance in the new Simpsons Ride debuting May 17, 2008 at Universal Studios Hollywood.

The $40-million Simpsons simulator ride replaces a similar Back to the Future ride formerly housed at the same location.

Lloyd revealed the Doc Brown homage in the Simpsons attraction during a Florida forum sponsored by BTTF.com, a Back to the Future fan site.

DeLorean Time Machine in the Simpsons Ride at Universal StudiosAccording to BTTF.com, Lloyd provides the voice for an animated Doc Brown in the queue of the Simpsons Ride during a discussion with Professor Frink (voiced by Hank Azaria) about the Institute of Future Technology, a nod to “Back to the Future.” The iconic De Lorean time machine also makes an animated appearance.

“It’s a funny piece and it looks like it’ll get a great laugh,” Lloyd told the Florida audience.

BTTF.com hints at other “Back to the Future” references in the Simpsons Ride but refrains from leaking spoiler plot points.
