To state the obvious: Disneyland is insanely crowded during the Christmas holidays. So much so that the Anaheim theme park has been forced to temporarily cut off ticket sales every day this week since Christmas Day — and the hordes aren’t expected to dissipate until at least New Year’s Day, according to Disney officials.
Visitors who insist on buying a ticket are detoured to the less-crowded Disney’s California Adventure until the throngs thin next door at Disneyland. Disney officials said ticket sales have been typically cut off daily from midday until dinnertime — with the determined visitors allowed into Disneyland in time for the evening fireworks show.
Waits for the most popular Disneyland attractions such as the Finding Nemo submarine ride have been stretching to three hours-plus. The line for the Pirates of the Caribbean boat ride winds like a never-ending maze. A Space Mountain employee on MiceChat quoted one frustrated visitor: “Can I get a FastPass for the line to the FastPasses?”
The crowds, which can reach 70,000 people, have made the theme park a living, breathing sardine can.
“If you’re determined to come to the park, oil your sides and get here early and bring a ton of patience, because you will need it all,” said Pattimelt on MiceChat.
Have you braved Disneyland during the holidays?
