Good morning travelers! I’m in Chicago this weekend and looking forward to bringing you pics of green rivers, St. Patty’s Day celebrations and bustling Irish pubs. But wait — it’s only Friday…we have some things to discuss.
L.A. Times Staff Writer Brady MacDonald reveals the attendance numbers for SoCal amusement parks. While probably not very enlightening for theme park owners and investors, I was fascinated to learn that Disneyland got 14.9 million visitors in 2007. That’s only a 1% increase, but it’s still second in the nation behind Disney World. Get the stats on Universal Studios, SeaWorld, Knott’s Berry Farm and more from Brady.
We sure wish that gas prices would decline or remain flat. Hawaii may be the first state to hit $4 per gallon (with some stiff competition from California). We know it’s not a competition they’d want to win, but Maui has the No. 1 gas prices in the country. [AP]
World Hum’s blog post about the astrophysicist who found the optimal way to board a plane grabbed my attention (and a laugh) because I’m always trying to think of the most efficient way to get through security. Who will be the first airline to make the change?
So, are you going anywhere this weekend? Nowhere? That’s OK, there are lots of St. Patty’s Day parades and celebrations right here in and around Los Angeles for you to partake in. The Guide offers the Top 5 spots for St. Patrick’s Day dining.
Have a great weekend, travelers!
