Disneyland adds ‘Enchanted’ pre-parade

For little girls who can’t get enough of Princess Giselle from “Enchanted” — my 7-year-old daughter, Hannah, included — Disneyland has added its newest royal family member to its holiday parade.

The “Enchanted” pre-parade features a pair of courtly attendants carrying an “Enchanted” banner followed by Giselle in a flower-laden black carriage drawn by a snow-white horse. Another royal, blue-attired attendant takes up the rear of the retinue with a rolling garbage can and pooper-scooper — lest the stately steed leave a steaming souvenir along the parade route.

While “Enchanted” star Amy Adams isn’t on hand for the Anaheim theme park’s twice-daily procession, a suitable stand-in capably fills her shoes to the delight of ‘tween girls lining the parade route.

Mice Age’s new Dateline Disneyland column by Andy Castro features several photos and video from the pre-parade.

My daughter had only one critique of the otherwise well-reviewed movie: “She ends up with the wrong guy.” Fortunately for Hannah, Giselle rides princeless in the parade.

um the carriage is not black. it is Dark blue with yellow striping…there are four different horses that work the parade. two of them are shires and the other two are percherons. the horse in the video and pictures is Brother. He is a shire. His brother Reggie also does parades and one of his fron feet is black.
Silver is A HUGE percheron, he is silver in color =)
Jimmy is the smallest draft horse living at Disneyland. He stands around 16.2 hands tall, and weighs in at about 1800lbs. he is all black with a thick white blaze. He is also a percheron and pulls Giselle.

Also Giselle is not a princess. she is a maiden. she NEVER marries the prince.
