Thinking about a trip up the coast to the Monterey Peninsula, by road or air? If not, read this post and perhaps you’ll reconsider. As if the region’s gorgeous scenery, prime vineyards, tranquil vibe and world-class aquarium aren’t reasons enough to visit, the Monterey County Convention & Visitors Bureau has put together a new promotion rife with some serious deals.
The “Smile Recovery” promo — I’m already feeling sunnier — offers something for everyone: families on the hunt for fun, couples craving quiet and students seeking shoestring rates.
Deals: Here are some of the more noteworthy offers of the bunch: $100 off rack rates at Anton Inn in Pacific Grove; an overnight stay at Portola Hotel & Spa with 2 two-day passes to the Monterey Bay Aquarium for $149 (pre-tax); a third-night free at Bernardus Lodge in Carmel Valley, plus a $100 food-and-beverage credit; a family-of-four package featuring two nights’ lodging, aquarium tickets, whale-watching, dinner, beach bonfire and breakfast for $967 (including tax) at Monterey Bay Lodge; and a second night free at Monterey Hostel.
The 12 deals listed for attractions include $10 off per person on trail rides at Holman Ranch in Carmel; 2-for-1 tickets to the Sea Otter Classic festival, April 16-19, 2009; and 25% off an Adventures by the Sea kayaking tours.
When: The promotion runs now through May 31, 2009.
More details: See the promotion page for the full list of participating hotels and venues, and to find appropriate links for more information and reservations.
