Cruises: Set sail with rock star John Mayer

Music artist cruises are becoming more and more popular. Fans get both a great excuse to go on a cruise, as well as access to performances that they wouldn’t be able to see in normal concert venues. Sixthman, who produces The Rock Boat, Lynard Skynard’s Simple Man Cruise and Ships and Dip with Barenaked Ladies, is also adding grammy-award-winning musician and former Jessica Simpson beau, John Mayer to the list. Mayer fans can cruise with Mayer on the Mayercraft Carrier to the Caribbean in February.

Deals: If you find four friends and want to cram into a bunk cabin, prices start at $419/person before taxes ($99/person). An Oceanview room starts at $774/person based on double occupancy. There is an assortment of pricing to choose from. Sixthman also offers a variety of travel discounts from air deals with Air Tran to coupons with Hertz.

Why Go: The cruise is will be on Carnival’s Victory ship and boasts a nine-story atrium. Check out the Mayercraft Carrier message boards to see what fans are saying about the cruise.

Why Not: Sadly, the cruise sets sail from Miami, FL, not anywhere on the west coast.
