Farecast, the travel search website best-loved for giving the heads up on future flight prices, has just launched a beta hotel feature. I like it because Farecast maps out the hotels by price, tells you if the hotel’s room rate is average – and even better – whether or not you’re getting a deal.
Deals: The new Hotel Rate Key searches more than 5,000 hotels in 30 cities and filters out “sold out” hotels as you search. If you want to find out how your rate compares to future dates, click the Rate Key and a comparison chart will pop up telling you how your rate compares to different days of the week.
I found deals in Las Vegas, San Diego and even Melbourne, Australia but smaller locations like La Jolla aren’t quite on the map just yet.
