Club Med, the well-known, all-inclusive vacation resort with properties worldwide, is willing to give you seven nights for the price of three. They are calling it a 7-Day Weekend — but you still have to work for it. The cost? Agonizing over whether you bring the kid(s), ditch them for a lovers’ escape or skip out on your spouse and high-tail it to a sunny beach with your friends. Still single? No worries. You can take advantage of this deal too. See what I mean? Tough decisions to make. Then your next task is to decide whether you want to go to Mexico or the Caribbean.
Here’s how the deal panned out when I tested it.
Deal: Prices for the Club Med 7-Day Weekend start at $799 per person. For the family resorts, kids are 50% off. The offer is good at Cancún Yucatán, Ixtapa Pacific, La Caravelle, Buccaneer’s Creek, Turkoise and Sandpiper resorts, with limited availability. I started checking dates and couldn’t find the low rates. Apparently the deal is harder to find as you get closer to the holiday rush. If you are looking for the lowest price, try traveling in September or October.
Club Med Ixtapa Pacific: I found dates that matched the rock-bottom rate. Departing Sept. 22, the seven-night stay was $859 per person, including taxes, gratuities, meals, snacks, activities and membership fees that are $60 per adult. It included accommodations in a Club Room. Note that TripAdvisor rates this property as the No. 1 hotel in Ixtapa.
Tip: Can’t take a full week off? They have last-minute 3-day deals starting at $249 per person.
When: Book by Oct. 31 for travel until April 30, 2010

I think I would choose Cancun as I have seen some stunning pictures of that place, plus I have whom have some good stories about this town
