China earthquake-7.8; Virgin America tries to add Chicago (ORD); Parvati Shallow, winner of ‘Survivor Micronesia’

A street scene in Beijing shortly after the earthquake.

Good morning travelers! I hope you had a lovely weekend. I’m waking up to lots of news today.

Earthquake news | China was hit with a 7.8 magnitude earthquake today. The epicenter was in Wenchuan County, about 60 miles northwest of Chengdu, Sichuan’s capital. Chengdu has a population of 12 million. Flights to Chengdu were diverted to the Jiangbei Airport in Chongqing immediately following the earthquake. [Update: Read: Thousands feared dead in China quake, including 900 teenagers trapped beneath a collapsed high school.]

Airline News | Virgin America fans will be happy to hear that it is trying to make Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD) the official eighth city on its growing list of destinations. Today Virgin America will file with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to get arrival authorization and later this week it’ll file additional needed paperwork. While they do the heavy lifting to bring consumers some low-cost flights, let us try and guess what the price point will be. My guess is Los Angeles (LAX) to Chicago (ORD) for the promo main cabin fare of $99 each way. What’s your guess? It’s hoped Virgin America will get confirmation soon and we won’t have to wait too long to find out.

Travel TV | Congratulations to Parvati Shallow from Los Angeles who won the prize of $1 million in “Survivor: Micronesia — Fans vs. Favorites.” If you didn’t watch this series, you might recognize Shallow from her sixth-place finish on “Survivor: Cook Islands.” The unique finish for the Micronesia episode was that it was the first time in 16 seasons that the competition had four women making it to the end of the game.

  1. robinia Says:

China was hit with a 7.8 earthquake. Well, any other country, my heart would be saddened.

Honey, because it’s China, let’s all sing “Happy Days are Here Again.” Such a ruthless, emotionless, money-hungry society deserves EVERY natural disaster possible.

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got to volunteer in helping the blind.

  2. edwina Says:

A 7.8 earthquake disaster in CHINA?

Are we supposed to be sad about this?

  3. amber Says:

Wow, that’s too bad of what happened in China.

Now for more pressing issues, what’s for dinner? Will gas prices continue to skyrocket? Why was “Young Frankenstein” only nominated for 3 Tony’s? Why isn’t Hillary bowing out of the race yet? Who cares about George Bush’s daughter’s wedding.

  4. chantay washington Says:

Well, it is very difficult to shed tears for such an evil country with such evil people. I’m sorry. If the earthquake happened in any other country except China, I would be shedding tears. But it happened in China! Champagne anybody?

  5. XQ Says:

the one who calls others evil himself is an evil!

  6. tina Says:

Well, my heart goes out to China. However, doesn’t the lives lost actually help the Chinese government in stabilizing population growth? Hey, tragedies happen and we must look at the silver lining, honey!

It happened, get over it, go back to work, we are wasting time. Time is money. CHOP CHOP…

  7. cable newly Says:

Will this screw up the Olympic games? I hope not.

  8. samuel glades Says:

Shouldn’t we be focusing on preparing the opening ceremonies of the Olympic Games?

I mean c’mon, the Olympic games only happen once every four years. The Chinese government have killed in one strike than this little earthquake.

Get over it. Let the dead, bury the dead.

Life is for the living. Time is money…let it go China.

  9. tokyo maine Says:

Well if China and the Chinese people presented themselves as more caring, gentle and sincere, the previous comments wouldn’t be so true!

  10. Chantay Says:

Thank you for your rebuttal XQ.

Now, if you were to tell me that personally, would I be able to understand you in English?

  11. tokyo nose Says:

Rumor is, the evil two-faced Chinese government knew that the earthquake was coming. Again, it is just a RUMOR. If this were a fact, I would have one word to say, ‘TYPICAL’.

  12. wanggang Says:

Some people like chantay washington should be sent to hell,it’s deserved!

  13. Cheryl Says:

Facing such destructive earthquake taking thousands of lives, if you are not sad, if you are laughing, THEN, you are not qualified to be Man

  14. LHL Says:

Why you hate us so much, I wanna ask!To those people who abuse us with many bias, I see the evil! Everyone could see “In God We Trust” on your coinage…I really hope it also could be printed on your mind! Hate is too great a burden to bear. Pls toss out!Every bean has its black, right? We hope the whole world has a full picture of china ,getting rid of all the prejudice.

  15. chantay Says:

    To WANGANG!

“Hell”, lets see, is that also a province in China, near the Mongolian border?

What other country in the world force people to only one child! What other country in the world would revere their baby boys above their baby girls.

Now look, parents are devastated. Yes, Evil is as Evil does. Tell Mao-Tse-Tung and his replacements how many people did they PURPOSELY kill under the motivation of progress of Communism. (Hint: Cultural Revolution era, redirecting the Yahntze River, killing first born baby girls…)

Now, they lobbied so hard for the Olympics to show the world of their new syscrapers, progress in economy, innovation and commerce. What happens, the debacle in Tibet and this devastating earthquake. Call it POETIC JUSTICE!

  16. amber Says:

Evil? You got that right! People think I’m black, or a dark Pacific Islander. However, I’m half black and chinese. My grandmother raised me so I understand it fluently. People don’t know that and I certainly will not reveal that to any Chinese person.

First; because I’m not pure Chinese, NO Chinese person will accept me as thier own. EVIL. You think Americans are racist, these people take the cake!

Second; in front of Americans, they act polite in speaking English. They smile and bow thier heads. Behind their backs or in mixed company where Americans and Chinese nationals are gathered, they speak EVIL in front of their FACES of those who don’t speak Chinese, and then SMILE. EVIL. I hear this all the time in Chinese restaurants.

In some cases, they are your stereotypical TWO-FACED villians.

My mother and maternal grandparents are Chinese. I’m also not even included in any Chinese functions of my Chinese aunts and uncles and their families. They hate me.

I feel sorry for the victims, but not sorry enough to have any passion for the Chinese people as a whole!

  17. Inn Says:

How astonished that some evils are really seen here like chantay washington who could be as ogress for it cheered “champagne” on the victims of an earthquake! What a cold-blooded creature!

  18. Inn Says:

How astonished that some evils are really seen here like ogress who could cheer “champagne” or sing “Happy Days are Here Again” on the victims of an earthquake! What a cold-blooded creature!

  19. Inn Says:

God Bless Chinese in the disastrous earthquake!

  20. chantay washington Says:

    Maybe this will teach them to;

    1) smile and make customers feel welcomed,

    2) stop and think of other people and not only how to make money off of them,

    3) learn to give to others and not always thinking how to “take” as much as you can,

    4) accept people who are mixed Chinese with respect,

    5) people are people first, nationallity second, family third, money fourth,

    6) understand that the Chinese men are known for being little endowed and have no sex appeal, but it is only 95% truth.

Now if you excuse me, I have some champagne to open and a celebration to prepare.

  21. Inn Says:

God will convert those with evil minds; God will direct those full of logical confusions; God will cure those suffering from mental illness; yet God will not excuse those seemingly knowing a bit of the so-called “justice” to destroy the real justice and distort the benevolence of the whole human world on those struggling against the earthquake. You, me, and others, whoever they are, Americans, Chinese, or mixed Chinese, are all the subjects of our God who has always asked us to keep away from any hatred of human being.

  22. chantay washington Says:

    To the blogger named WANGANG:

Okay, I’ll accept being called a “cold-blooded” creature.

What do you expect, I’m half Chinese! I guess it’s in my blood.

I’m trying to change, but it’s difficult because the terms “cold-blooded”, “ruthless” and “Chinese” are connected together like “blue” “clouds” and “sky”. It is impossible to separate.

“Cold blooded?” It takes one to know one, doesn’t it? That is what “WE” are known for world-wide.

It is the black half of my cultural heritage that allows me to experience humility and show compassion.

Again, the victims I cry for, the government and the social practices of the Chinese people, I rejoice!

    Free Tibet!

  23. wgirl Says:

The way I see it. . any natural disaster of this magnitude is a tragedy. These people killed didn’t deserve it. They didn’t have a choice. Yes, you’re angry at the Chinese governmnet but to put that on the innocent people who have no choice but to live under their rule? Talk about no sympathy for the human race. I, like everyone else, do not by any means condone what they government is doing but let’s look at the circumstances. Reading the entries on these blogs make me ashamed of calling myself an American. That’s cruel!

  24. amber Says:

All this news about the Chinese earthquake is beginning to bore me. Let’s refocus and talk about more important issues like the Olympics.

C’mon China. You never showed compassion for your own people before, why start now?

Does anyone want CAKE with their CHAMPAGNE?

  25. Inn Says:

It’s good to have a change. Come on and good mood will be with you for good.
Now here is something that needs to be mentioned. But, before narration, let’s convey our heartfelt condolence to the victims of the earthquake in China. It is a huge calamity with heavy death toll of Han, Qiang and Tibetan Chinese. Chinese government has been very good this time in quick response to the rescue operation and Chinese people have been very, very good, too, and do whatever they can to help the people in need.
    Below is my personal comprehension.
    1. It is seen that Chinese are intelligent and peaceful people. Compass and gunpowder are two of the Four Great Ancient Inventions by Chinese and introduced to the West through the Silk Road. Chinese used compass to sail overseas and called on nations along the coast just for friendship and western explorers used it to look for colony and gold. Chinese used gunpowder for fireworks whereas westerners used it for cannons, with which they forced to open China. The Great Wall (Have you been to Beijing? It is a great work in the human world and worth going to see if you haven’t) was built for protection, not for aggression. In the early 20th century British invaded Tibet (Why on earth are westerners interested in an inner land far away from their home? I think it is their global strategy, which we need to study further), Tibetan and Han fought together against foreign invaders.
    2. Chinese including Tibetans have been always hospitable to peoples from outside because Confucius says “how happy is it to have friends from afar”, and Sakyamuni Buddha teaches people to be compassionate. Both Han and Tibetans have faith in Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara because of his mercifulness. A great number of Chinese believe in Buddhism.
    3. The term “Chinese” refers to all people living in China, including Han and Tibetan people who have been getting on well for many hundreds of years. Han and Tibetans are traditionally brothers and sisters.
    4. To be proud of being a Chinese who is gifted with the virtue of being restrained and benevolent. In history China was bullied and humiliated by the western powers, yet it did not take vendetta. Chinese have broad chest. Today, when facing mass western prejudice, discrimination, and even plotted roorback, Chinese believe it is only from a small group of people, and it will get over sooner or later. Harmonious and peaceful coexistence is what the world should have forever.
    5. Hardly can you find people in the world satisfactory with everything done by their government, and that’s why people are pushing their government and trying to make them serve their country and people well.
    6. Chinese government is improving its law and administration on the behalf of its people although there is much room to be desired. Perhaps it takes time to be perfect as China had been feudalism for 2000 years and it is difficult to have a big change on a big nation with 1.3 billion people within a short time.
    7. If China rises as a strong nation (which is undoubtedly good for its people), it will never be aggressive to its neighbour and rest of the world, because this is the nature of Chinese people, a nation who love peace. It is also firmly believed that Chinese people will never allow their territory to be split under any circumstances.

  26. amber Says:

    WGIRL,

You are right. I am being cold for a purpose. Again, I am half black and half Chinese. I don’t speak Chinese well, so I don’t speak it in public but I understand it with fluency. Furthermore, I don’t even look Chinese due to my strong African-American mixed features.

I do know this, as an American, especially in restaurants and other venues where Chinese merchants cater to the American populace, I see the RUTHLESS comments made in your faces.

Take for example, in a restaurant, an American couple albeit rudely, told the Chineses waitress that thier order was unsatisfactory. In returning their order to the chef another waiter told the waitress in Chinese to “SPIT” on their new order, and confirmed to do so with a SMILE! The Chinese waitress went to the kitchen and gave the American couple thier order and proceeded to enjoy their meal. While the whole crew was laughing!

However, I have to admit that the American couple deserved chastisement based on their behavior, but not something underhand as that! This has nothing to do with the victims. It does have something to do with revealing to the Chinese populace that some people are “in” to their game.

This is just ONE example of hundreds of incidents, and it is not as ISOLATED as you think!

    Feel me?

So, like I said, my heart goes out to the victims. This is just another venue to reveal some painful truths!

  27. amber Says:

    P.S.

They could dazzle the world with their philosophical proverbs and impress them with their attempt to balance life through the concept of ying and yang.

The difference is, I’m mixed Chinese with BLACK! You know how low they look at ME?

Thank goodness, my dear grandparents had the bigger heart to love me and raised me to understand Chinese.

Because of that I see the darker side of thier already COLD nature and unfeeling nature. Again, again, again… E V I L ! Trust me

  28. Inn Says:

    To amber,
We are very sorry for your miserable life experience in the country where you live, but feel as you are very proud of your great Chinese grandparents who “had the bigger heart to love” you and raised you to understand the concept of Ying and Yang, a great Chinese philosophy that many westerners don’t understand.

  29. amber Says:

    Inn,

Thank you for your comments. Can you answer me this question please.

Why do Chinese men have such little “Yings” between their legs? The Chinese women never get pleasure when they attempt to make passionate “Yang” with their husbands!

Sounds like that philosophy has one little “shortcoming” the Chinese culture has to endure. Very very very little!

Do you know what I am talking about?

    Free Tibet!

  30. amber Says:

My great CHINESE grandparents lived in a GREAT country where they were exposed and lived in communities with people with different skin colors, nationalities, mixed ethnicities, religions, traditions and social customs under the glue of a federal democracy. It was difficult at first, but they knew, living in the United States, they were exposed to more than one way of thinking, and ACCEPTED others who differed from thier own, even if those who were different were individuals their shared a blood line with and INSIDE their family circle.

Yes, my great CHINESE grandparents accepted me because I was BLACK! Would YOU or the majority of your people? Save yourself the trouble from answering me. Your EVILNESS supersedes your ability to captivate any American reader with your philosophical rhetoric.

That said, get a microscope to find your YING, (which defines the MISERY of your male population) and go straight to YANG!

I’m too much of a lady to explain what Americans already know, having read that statement.

    Tootles!

  31. Inn Says:

    To amber,
I was sad that you didn’t seem to understand the philosophy of Ying and Yang, which implies that you were not a good student.
The supposed prescription: Go back to the embrace of your great Chinese grandparents to review what you had been taught before.
I’m sorry too that I can’t answer your question because I am neither a doctor of frigidity or eroticism, nor a raiser of a “chicken” farm.
The supposed prescription: Go to hospital or the place where you were from to get your original root.
I was puzzled why you ended up your comment with an AD “Free Tibet!” Are you paid well for this ad? It is too commercial! What is worse is that it has obviously made your mind in disorder.
The supposed prescription: Quit the job and resume your normal life.

  32. amber Says:

Thank you Inn. You have exposed me. Everything you write about me is absolutely correct. What can I say. Chinese people are extraordinarily intelligent. Your English is impressive. “Go back to ‘the’ embrace of your Great..” is how we speak English. I am humbled. You are right in everything.

Do your brothers and sisters “write” as well as you? Ooops, sorry. Your parents weren’t allowed. Thank your government for practicing YING or is that YANG?

Again, have you ever dated a black person? Would you allow your children, I mean CHILD, to marry a black person? I keep forgetting how strict your government is.

Inn, can you have sexual relations before you get married? If you can, why? Chinese men would not be capable of making their women scream: “Yang, yang, yang…yaaang”, which is the whole idea sometimes. Have you tried it?

Now, go wash the windows at the hotel where the American athletes are going to stay for the Olympics. Make sure you do not use Chinese cleaning products or anything “made in China” to do your work. I don’t need to explain that, do I?

Oh yes, there are several Chinese-Americans on OUR Olympic team. Make sure you watch what you say when you talk about the Americans behind thier backs.

    Tootles.

Inn, you need to make love to someone really quick or have love life really soon. Like yesterday. You sound really, really frustrated. The real thing is better than any device made in China. Lol….

  33. chantay washington Says:

    Inn honey,

Thank you for curing my insomnia. After reading your long and boring comment explaining Chinese history, it bored so much I slept like a baby. I haven’t slept that good in years.

My sister and I, are not good students as you have clearly observed.

My question to you is, why don’t Chinese women in China shampoo their hairs or use deoderant under thier arms. Honey, it’s not like you don’t have manufacturing factories that make these products. A little make up won’t hurt either.

I suggest your women “use” them, before hosting the Olympics. Body odor is unbecoming and smelly. Ooops, is this part of the “pollution” problem you folks are dealing with?

Oh yes Inn. I heard that when you were born, you were a very, very, unattractive baby, that the doctor proceeded to slap your mother! LOL

    Free Tibet

  34. amber Says:

    Also, INN…

If your men were more “endowed” perhaps they would finally see the true color of your eyes. You know what I mean, girl? You would really understand YANG if your boyfriend knew how to wiggle his YING.

Some things should not be always handled with a business mind. Pleasure and ecstacy is also part of human nature.

Since, my father is black and my mother is Chinese, she probably has gone into erotic pleasures zones where “no Chinese woman has gone before, and no Chinese man is capable of giving, honey!”

Since I’m sexually active, I know what I’m talking about! You should try it sometimes. Perhaps that’s what I mean when I say, “FREE TIBET?”

  35. chantay washington Says:

Go to “the” hospital or the original place of your roots.

Sweetie, I’m not the only “student” who wasn’t good. Please learn to use articles at appropriate times. “The” is always used in front of any nouns.

It is really difficult to read your comments with the proper flow. Why don’t you go to Hong Kong and learn to write better, for they were taught by the British to write properly.

Make love, not war. Ooops, you would never, ever experience what “making love” is. I forgot, you are Chinese! Unless you are an “open minded” American of Chinese descent, like my mother, who knows the concept of “once you have black, you never go back”, or “the darker the berry the sweeter the juice”, you will forever live life not knowing the pleasures of your eyes popping out during ecstacy!

Do you under this my virgin and sexually frustrated Chinese blogger?

  36. oof Says:

    @amber
You said “Since I’m sexually active, I know what I’m talking about!.. Perhaps that’s what I mean when I say, ‘FREE TIBET?’”
I wonder, are you going to make TIBET a free whorehouse? Does Dalai Lama agree? No way! You have to pay for it at least, I wanna to tell you!

  37. Inn Says:

The upper two bloggers named amber & chantay seemed to come from the uncivilized primary society for they knew nothing but sexual sprees, which, according to their hobby, might be promoted and practised in “Free Tibet.” Any civilized human being including Americans, Africans, Chinese, and other peoples in the world feel ashamed on them living in this world in the 21st century. Sadly, a conclusion might have to be drawn that it’s waste of time persuading those incorrigible to awake with a new start.
By the way, it is advisable to go and look up any English English dictionary (not American English dictionaries, some of which would not be authentic), or go and ask your former teacher of English, who might fill your some vacancies in English grammar and expressions.
No more words with those uttering dirty word and good luck!

  38. amber Says:

Lol! Ooof! (sexual oppression, political oppression, religious oppression is OPRESSION hon.)

Of course it has to be “free”. What woman in their right mind would have sex with little endowed Chinese men. The only way their pathetic little “yangs” would get any is if some respected Tibetan figure makes a decree!

Since the men in the countryside don’t have any money, sex has to be free! They certainly won’t attract any women at the night-clubs by showing off their flag-pole. (Not without a magnifying glass anyways.)

Since they don’t have money to “pay” for some good YING, it has to be free of charge. I imagine, Chinese men get awfully tired of staying home on Friday and Saturday nights, playing with their YANG’s!

LOL, LOL, Who loves ya OOF? Amber does sugar!

I’m really having a good time on this blog!

    Free Tibet Inn!

  39. amber Says:

Inn honey, YOU DON’T GET IT DO YOU? It’s confucious-black-inner city-country humor-American humor. You would not be able to understand, honey. We are laughing like hell at you!

Okay, if it will make you any happier, FREE Hong Kong and Taiwan, but don’t free Tibet. Also, we are stupid, not good students and don’t understand your Ying-Yang philosophical thought. We agree with you. What more do you want. Again, what is your POINT? LOL!

If you are a woman, “free” yourself to go to the nearest beauty parlor, quickly! LOL! You do know what a “beauty parlor” is, don’t you, our extremely intelligent Chinese blogger?

If you are a man, well these days there are always surgical procedures you can obtain to lengthen your YING to bring pleasure to someone’s YANG. Or, go to the market, by a couple of bananas and eggplants, take your date home, turn off the lights, and prepare a “salad”.

Yes, we do come from an “uncivilized primative society”…not primary, PRIMITIVE. You are right! I feel so ashamed. You are just too intelegent for me. Well, at least WE admit it! But if you think about it, better coming from an “uncivilized society” than “an unendowed society” sweetness. That’s right, uncivilized CAN get civilized with a little bit of training, learning and guidance.

    Coming from a society where the men are “unendowed”, well..there are surgical procedures or;

“Like Confucious say..be a man, use your hand!”

I’m laughing so hard I wet my pants! LOL LOL!

Thank you INN, you just don’t know how much you’ve made all 20 of us laugh!

From the “stupid, uneducated, primitave Americans”. YOU ARE RIGHT? Now what? So, let’s call it a truce and we will not respond to your comments in the future, because you just don’t get it!

    You win, INN! LOL

L.A. Times Travel…kudos to you! Aaah Free Speech, it’s a beautiful thing, right?

    Peace-out (for good)!

  40. chantay washington Says:

Amber and the good folks at Los Angeles Times Trave:

    Regarding “wiggle”.

    American proverb says:

“If there is very little to jiggle,
what on earth are you going to wiggle?”

    Who loves ya INN?

    We primitive Americans, that’s who!

If you’re a woman, please allow some young gentlemen INN.

If you’re a man, go see our famous American surgeion, Dr. Trigger. He makes things a little “bigger.”
Then find a young lady to get INN to.

Peace L.A. Times Travel, and thank you! BOOOOOOOOYAHHH!

    P.S.

What’s up on the potential flooding of a lake in China that threatens the lives of 1.2 million people? Wow…I will now practice what mama preached, “Can’t say anything good, don’t say it at all.”

Well, it’s a good time for me to start, don’t you think?

  41. oof Says:

Stupid, no trace of humour at all. Others saved your face by using “primary” and you wished to be “primitive” yourselves…

  42. chantay washington Says:

    Oof sugar,

It’s called “hook, line and sinker”.

    Tootles for good!

  43. amber Says:

    “oof”, What a cool name!

When your sexual partner saw your “proof” between your thighs, did she angrily shout with great disappointment; “you have tiny, tiny oof..get off-off-off me.” Assuming you’re a man of course.

  44. amber Says:

    OOF, baby..

We thank INN for saving our faces.

Sugar, primitive is more derogatory than primary. Agreed. You see, we didn’t know that.

Okay, instead of “little yings” we’ll save your face and replace it to “size-challenged yangs”.

Again, OOF, the Chinese are so much more smarter and discerning than us primitive Americans. I’m so ashamed.

Inn, honey..I think you meant ‘British-English’ when comparing them to our inferior ‘American English’. ‘English-English’ is showing-off your superior intelligence. Love ya, girl!

You are right, there is a difference. Just like Hong Kong Chinese and Taiwanese, compared to mainland Chinese-Chinese. BIG, BIG, BIG difference. Trust us! Ask anybody in the world.

  45. amber Says:

Ooof, we assume you are a man, since you have the ambiance of a masculine individual, would you ever make love to a black woman? You could tell us, we won’t tell your mother. Oh, I’m sorry, would you ever make love to “any” woman? I forget, we here in the U.S. are tolerant of every lifestyle. If you like men, then I beg for your forgiveness.

Well, if this is the case, I guess two yings are better than none? I guess lovemaking between the two of you male lovers is like “looking for two needles in a hay stack!” LOL LOL LOL x 30!

Wow, it’s my primitive and stupid upbringing, as you very well understand.

If you do like males, don’t be ashamed. It’s okay!

Last question. Which of you usually gets “oof” first? LOL x 40

Okay L.A. Travel, blessing’s to ya’. Even I gotta go. I’m just having too good of a time now!

    Later sugars!

  46. chantay washington Says:

    @INN: Girl, this is the way we “incorrigible” primitives would have written your eloquent comment;

The bloggers named Amber and Chantay seemed to belong to an uncivilized and primitive society. They know nothing except to express comments with sexual overtones. According to their previous comments, they would promote and practice unorthodox and non-traditional sex in a “Free-Tibet.”

Any civiclized human being, from all the nationalities of the globe, would be ashamed of them in our 21st century world.

Sadly, a conclusion might have to be drawn that it would be a waste of “my” time to persuade these two incorrigible individuals to enlighten them to begin a new way of thinking.

By the way, it is advisable that these two particular individuals use a British dictionary oppose to an American dictionary. Some words in the American vocabulary are not authentic.

If not, they should ask their former English teachers, who might recommend to them some words to fill the void when using grammar and expressionable idioms in English.

The main reason I advise Chantay and Amber to do this task is because there are numerous American expressions and idioms that I do not fully understand, but I am too ashamed to admit this fact.

INN; Never judge a book by its cover. There might be some memorable chapters to read.

May I add that your second language English writing skills are impressive.

    Love,

The stupid, primitive black, incorrigible, African-American of Chinese extraction!

    P.S.
OOF. Listen, here in the states we have many beautiful “gay” communities with beautiful, kind hearted individuals. So, don’t feel timid or ashamed to admit it. I understand in China they are called “chu-man-chu”
    zones. LOL LOL

    See ya’!

INN and OOF, you precious Chinese individuals still DO NOT GET IT, do you?

L.A. Travel, we know you do! I’m just shocked that you folks felt you had the freedom to post some of our comments that we admit were a little risque and downright cruel. Chantay and I are highly impressed and equally grateful that you are able to discern and excercise the freedom of speech and censorship.

If these two individuals don’t get the gist of why we made our comments now, then they never will.

Thank you once again. We won’t take up any more of your space.

As you see, my sister and I and some of our colleagues, admittedly, have a bizzare way of defending our fellow Yanks. You as well as I know that we, as Americans, never claimed to be perfect. We are far from it, you know what I mean? People don’t know that in weakness is where we generate our strength sometimes. Go figure?

Again, Kudos to you fine folks at L.A. Times Travel. Out “fo sho.”

    Hook, line and sinker…

  48. Inn Says:

Are chantey & amber sisters each other? Then I’d like to tell you that you are both “Yins”, not “Yangs”. “Yin” (阴,“Ying” is wrong spelling) refers to “moon, negative, or female…”, while “Yang” (阳) to “sun, positive, or male…” Go and check it with your Chinese friends. By the way, may I know your job?

    LOL!

My dear Chinese bloggers, judging by the sarcastic berating of my fellow Yanks, none of the cruel things they commented on should not be taken to heart.

You see, in their own way, they were displaying - I think - a form of expression.

Being that the general Chinese persona, highly admired by the way, relegates it philosophy to balnce under the guise of perfection, these Yanks were trying to make a point.

When claiming to be perfect or you create a wall that does not allow you to increasingly express your thoughts and attempt to understand the freedom that goes with it, when empathizing with others who are different from you. Not “better” but different.

Chantay and Amber, as the true Yankees that they are, were symbolically showing you that claiming “not” to be perfect, gave them much more leverage to express themselves whether it appeals to your thinking or not.

They did not challenge you, nor argue with you when you stated that they were primary, stupid and uncivilized, did they? Nope, they agreed with you. Therefore, it gave them the “green-light” to continue on with their insults at YOU, at that point were just playfully toying with you, thereby entertaining themselves. That is what they meant by commenting that “you don’t get it”. It’s an “American” thing. Why? Because the world has called us many negative things that are far more worst. It does not phase us. You were not insulting them at all. As a matter of fact, “hook-line and sinker” means that they set up a trap, you bit into it, and they USED your anger to entertain themselves. I have to admit, it was also very comical to me too. When they started using “sexual overtones” as a rebuttal, I knew which mindset they were using.

We are not as dumb as you think. Anyways, Ying was the traditional usage of how Americans had been brought up to understand this particular philosophical concept. It has only been redirected recently to “YIN” as you noted.

No hard feelings. There is a gem to be found everyday you know.

We have a love/hate relationship with our media. On one hand, we sincerely appreciate the fact that we are able to express our dissatisfaction with our government, and everything else about our society. On the otherhand, we hate the fact that others may have different outlooks and opinions that differ from our own.
