Business travel definitely isn’t as easy as it used to be. Securing late check-out or early check-in times at hotels can be difficult, and baggage restrictions at airports and on airlines have made traveling from coast to coast a hassle. But the Sheraton Chicago Hotel & Towers has two special offers that might make your next biz trip to the Midwest less of a headache.
Deal: For an additional $25, guests of the Sheraton Chicago Hotel & Towers can guarantee early check-in anytime between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. You must send an online request to the hotel at least 48 hours before check-in and specify your arrival time, then wait to receive a confirmation e-mail.
The Travelite by Sheraton program makes business travel even easier. Repeat guests can take advantage of free luggage storage (for up to 7 days) and clothing storage (up to 60 days), overnight laundry and pressing services (normal fees apply) and free adapters to borrow for electronic devices (e.g., laptops, razors, mobile phones).
Do you have any tips for getting late check-out/early check-in times at no extra charge? Tell us by posting in the Comments section below.
More details: The Travelite program is available not only at the Sheraton Chicago Hotel & Towers, but also at select Sheraton hotels in Boston, NYC and Toronto.
When: The early check-in offer at the Sheraton Chicago Hotel & Towers is valid through December 31st, 2007 (subject to availability); black-out dates may apply.
Caveat: The early check-in offer at the Sheraton Chicago Hotel & Towers may be subject to additional restrictions. It cannot be combined with any other offers or promotions.
Why Go: If you’re taking a red-eye flight from LAX to Chicago, being able to check-in early is worth the asking price ($25). Plus, this no-nonsense hotel is conveniently located right downtown. Some rooms even have lakeshore views.
Why Not: You’ve got to pick your luggage and any clothing stored at the hotel, even if your travel plans change. Otherwise, they’ll charge you for shipping it to your last known address or dispose of it by donating it to charity, etc.
Critique: Some guests say that the in-room decor is outdated. This isn’t the place for modish travelers.
Connect: High-speed (wireless or wired) Internet access costs $11.95/day for guests.
