Check flight status via Google & SMS

Travel tip: Google has partnered with Flightstats.com to allow travelers to check their flight status via a text message from their mobile phone. Just send Google a text message at 466453 with the flight number and name of the airline. Don’t worry if you don’t know the exact flight #, as long as you have the airline name or their abbreviation Google will reply with the reservation telephone number. They also tell you what gate the flight will be departing from.
