Cheap Hawaii airfares for the fall: LAX-HNL for $214 RT

There is still a considerable buzz about cheap Summer travel, but don’t discount planning an affordable fall vacation too. Airfare Watchdog pointed us to a remarkable low fare between Los Angeles (LAX) and Honolulu (HNL) for $214 round trip, including tax, through Dec. 16.

Tested: Although I found round-trip flights for $235 including tax for travel at the end of October and a few days into November (Bing Travel), Travelocity did beat it with $214 fares on American. When I tested the deal it went all the way to selecting the flights before the website lost my itinerary and asked me to start over. When I went back to the Travelocity home page and searched for flights between LAX and HNL (Oct. 20-27), the lowest price I could find was $235.  With only a $21 difference, I think this is still a great deal, especially considering it’s nonstop and includes tax.

Tip: Airfare Watchdog warns that this deal is available only five to nine days per month. If you care about saving the $21, keep hunting alternate dates.
