Can’t afford Vegas? Try Laughlin, by jet from ONT

The hotel prices in Vegas this past Memorial Day weekend were nutty. $500 for a room at Mandalay Bay and more than $400 for a basic room at the Bellagio — that’s before getting there, eating, gambling and getting into clubs or shows. Playing slots and lounging by the pool doesn’t have to be just for the rich and famous. If you can let go of the Vegas hype but want a sun-drenched, casino-flavored getaway, consider Laughlin, Nev.

Deal: The Edgewater and the Colorado Belle are offering a VIP air charter package that includes three nights’ accommodations and a round-trip flight between Ontario (ONT) and Laughlin/Bullhead International Airport on ExpressJet. Prices for this package start at $179, based on double-occupancy. If you can skip the chartered flight, rooms at both hotels are $18 per night mid-week in June and $45 per night on weekends, pre-tax.

Note: Supposedly you can book this package online. I tried to test book some dates to check prices, but couldn’t even plug in any dates. (I was working on a Mac/FireFox).

When: There are four-night packages that depart Ontario on Sunday and return Thursday, and weekend packages that depart Ontario Thursday and return Sunday.

Jen, thank you so much mention. I would like to address the internet booking feature. Unfortunately, there was a compatabilty issue for Firefox users. Because of your comments we were alereted of the problem and are making the proper adjustments.

The online booking feature should be available tommorow for Firefox users.
