California hotel deals for hybrid drivers

Bedandbreakfast.com is running a free gas promotion, in which B&Bs and hotels all over the country are offering fuel-related discounts. A handful of these venues is giving special deals to visitors who drive hybrid vehicles.

Here are two such deals in California:

The Colonial Terrace: Arrive in a hybrid, and you’ll get $25 off your total bill at this hotel a block away from the beach in Carmel-by-the-Sea. Rooms regularly cost $139 (pretax) and up.

When: The deal is valid for stays Sunday through Thursday nights, from now until June 30.
Connect/disconnect: Rooms have free Wi-Fi.

Barretta Gardens Inn Bed & Breakfast: For driving a hybrid here, you receive $50 off to put toward gas. This small B&B, which is an hour’s drive from Yosemite, is a restored early 20th century Victorian farmhouse. Doubles run $140 and up (pretax).

When: Take advantage of this deal for two-night (minimum) stays Sunday through Thursday nights from now until June 30.
Caveat: Holidays are excluded.
Connect/disconnect: The five guest rooms here have free wireless Internet.

If you’d like to move your fuel-efficient ride past state lines, deals targeting hybrid-drivers are being offered by hotels in other locations from Crested Butte, Colorado, to Camden, Maine.
