California: Free road trip guide

California Tourist Board California Drives coverDo airline frustrations have you thinking about getaways closer to home? The California Tourist Board has published a free e-book and glossy magazine that focuses on California drives up and down the state. Get maps and info for road trips from San Diego to the Redwoods and including the Central Valley, Gold Country, the High Sierras and the Shasta Cascades. Our very own Sara Benson authored the content and I’m happy to get the heads up because it’ll make a perfect addition to a nightstand of resources for the guest room.

Tip: Do you want to find info on the Redwoods as quickly as possible? Use the e-book’s “Search” tool to get straight to the destination you want. The book is short enough that you can flip through it easily, but if you want to be direct and efficient, they’ve made that simple too.

What are your favorite drives in California? Even if you live here, would you consider using a map and driving somewhere you’ve never been?
