Business Travelers: Clear security lines at SFO?

FlyClear.com imageNews tip: Clear, the registered traveler security card, launches at the San Francisco International Airport (SFO) today. KRON4 has a video of how the process works. This has been all over San Francisco’s morning news, but it’s apparent that Clear has been taking some bad beats from TSA as reported in the New York Times and USA Today. If the Clear card becomes more popular with frequent business travelers and Clear expands locations, will the line to scan your eyes and fingerprint end up being just as long as the normal security line?

Deal or no deal? The cost of the Clear airport security registration is $99.95 for one year, $199.90 for two and $299.85 for three years. The Clear card is not new to California. In fact, it’s been operating out of San Jose since January of this year. Clear is offering one month free to all government workers. Not one month free to try it out, but 13 months for the price of one year. Get all the facts and start the registration process online if you’re interested.

NB: It seems to me that this would be one of those things where it might not save you time on every trip, but that it’s going to be extremely worth it that one time when lines are insane, it’s a holiday traffic jam at the airport, or anything similar.

Clear members, has the card saved you time when you really needed it? Let loose in the comment section.
