Bravo TV: “Welcome to the Parker” Palm Springs

No worries, designers Jonathan Adler and Simon Doonan discuss it on their Podcast page in “PSYC – I believe in dorky enthusiasm.” The Palm Springs Yacht Club is sure to be featured on Bravo’s new reality TV show, “Welcome to the Parker” about the luxe hotel Le Parker Meridien Palm Springs. Mark your calendars for the show’s debut on July 26 and get a sneak peek online.

Deals: The “Spa Junkie Delight” package is not to be missed. Get a room for $199/night Sunday through Thursday and receive $200 in spa credit at the Parker’s Palm Springs Yacht Club. For regular rooms, the cool new VibeAgent had a nightly rate of $125, but was beat by the $115 internet rate on Le Meridien’s website. But wait…you have to see it all the way through the taxes and fees. VibeAgent’s final cost was $147/night while Le Meridien’s came to $161.

Caveat: If you book the Spa Junkie Delight, note that the spa credit is to be used per day. The remaining credit cannot be carried over to another day, or to another person.

Are the guests at the Parker as snobby and rude as one might expect?

Why Go: Bravo’s “Welcome to the Parker” show is bound to be a fun show worthy of space on your DVR. We wouldn’t be surprised if after the series gets underway that a new L.A. bar game sprouts up – “When I was at the Parker…” to be finished with a story of the most obnoxious (or famous) hotel guest you saw in Palm Springs.

Why Not: The video on Bravo makes it seem like only high-maintenance travelers visit the Parker and who wants to rub elbows with them at the pool?

When: The “Spa Junkie Delight” special is good Sunday-Thursday from June 15 through September 1, 2007.
