InterContinental ships your gifts starting this Friday

Robertson Boulevard, Los Angeles

InterContinental Hotels & Resorts has announced an offer beginning on “Black Friday,” the day after Thanksgiving, traditionally the year’s busiest shopping day (hence retail outlets’ ledger books will be “out of the red and into the black”). If you’ll be shopping while on travels during the holiday season, let your hotel run your postal errands for you.

Deal: Spend $199 or more (pre-tax) on a room at participating InterContinental hotels, and you can ship one box (up to 30 pounds) per room to anywhere in the continental U.S. Unfortunately, you can’t opt to use this as a free baggage service: The offer can be used for goods purchased during your stay only, and you’ll be asked to present proofs of purchase.

InterContinental Los Angeles Century City is participating in this offer, as is InterContinental San Francisco. Other participants include InterContinental Buckhead Atlanta, InterContinental Boston, InterContinental Miami, InterContinental the Barclay New York and Willard InterContinental Washington, D.C.

The monetary savings is here is nothing to write home about. If you do it yourself, you’ll pay around $30 total for a 30-pound box sent via parcel post. However, around the holidays, time is money, as you know, and the less time spent in post office queues is more time devoted to other tasks on your list.

When: Valid Nov. 28, 2008, to Jan. 2, 2009.

Contact: InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, (800) 424-6835
