Bigfoot found in Georgia? California spots where Sasquatch was reportedly sighted
Two Bigfoot hunters claim to have bagged the body of a creature they say is the great hairy one and plan to present their evidence today at noon a hotel in Palo Alto, according to news reports. Rick Dyer, who also offers Bigfoot tours, and Matthew Whitton say they made the find in northern Georgia.
And yes, there’s a photo.
Which got us wondering where a traveler might go to find his or her own Bigfoot. Bigfootencounters.com has compiled a handy database of sightings nationwide where you can access dated reports on each “encounter” submitted by contributors.
Update: LAT’s intrepid Web Scout David Sarno has a roundup of what he calls “all this Bigfoot ridiculousness happening right now.”
Sightings in California include:
*A 1995 sighting two miles from the Chilao Campground in the Angeles National Forest north of La Cañada Flintridge.
*A 1987 sighting near the Hermit Gulch Campground on Catalina Island (”The color of its body was either a brown or a reddish brown all over. Its strides were smooth and efficient. The palms were open and facing down in a slight curled position with the thumbs folded beneath…”)
*A 1977 report about Edwards Air Force Base in Palmdale [California], where apparently many locals have reported Bigfoot-like sightings over the years. (”Witnesses told very similar tales of large hair-covered man-like apes observed crossing the highway, or looking in their windows at their homes usually after midnight.”)
*A 2007 sighting on the Merced River in Yosemite that includes photographs of Bigfoot prints.

If the Bigfoot carcass is real, I hope those guys get rewarded for their troubles.
If the carcass is fake, I hope these guys lose their jobs. They are peace officers and run a Bigfoot expedition outfitter. I’m sure some defense lawyer will use this to question these officers credibility.

The DNA results came in today and apparently it has been proven that the body is actually that of a Bigfoot! With all the reports throughout the world of sightings for many, many years there just had to be something to it and finally the proof is in! He/She does exists!

I have been told a story by my mom which happen about 11 years ago about a siteing here in north georgia, she was on her way home one night late, when she and my dad stopped at a stop sign and something crossed the road in front of them which she claims to have been about 7ft tall and hairy, she was frightenend, after she stated that it look’d at her and walk’d on, so yes i believe that “BIG FOOT” is for real…Drew

I’d like to say that I’m from the north GA mountains where these inbred Git R done guys hunt bigfoots..Let me start by saying that it is a fake..The DNA actually turned out to be 96% opposum..yes you read it correctly.They definately make North Georgians look like a bunch of redneck trailer trash.

Okay here’s MY thing… the dna tests proved that this thing has something to do with opossum. Well? The fact is, its a big apelike creature and was obviously REAL enough to do a dna test, AND they are going to do an autopsy…What else could it be, but a sasquatch? The hunters are confident enough to go through all this testing. So it obviously isnt a chewbacca costume crumpled up and thrown into a box, right?

What about all the crap that we have ‘discovered’ in the ocean lately? The worlds smallest fish that was just discovered, yeah that was a mudpuddle for all intents we found that in. It is <12mm long. Giant squid…Kraken anyone? So whats so hard to believe here? It’s not like we’re trying to get you to believe that Michael Jackson is straight or Clinton really DIDN’T have sexual relations with ‘THAT WOMAN’ but people believe that crap too.

Hey I’ am only 12 1/2 and i herd about this bigfoot story cause my dad scared me about it…so i got scared..but today, my family and i went to the pool and he told me he was just kidding about bigfoot and that he is not real, those are just people that put bigfoot costumes on. but now i don’t know what to believe if it’s not true, and these people just made the story up about bigfoot, i think they should be sued.

Crabby speculates that this latest claim might have had something to do with the million dollar reward offered in June by binocular manufacturer Bushnell and Field & Stream magazine. The two companies offered the joint reward to anyone who can “provide an unaltered photograph/video, verified and substantiated by a panel of scientific experts [including a zoologist and biologist], the evidence required to prove a Sasquatch/Bigfoot/Yeti exists.”
But as LiveScience’s “bad science columnist” points out, “This is, of course, a marketing promotion and not a genuine search for Bigfoot. There’s no way to authenticate a Bigfoot photograph by itself; the image is simply a two-dimensional pattern of pixels. To truly prove a Bigfoot exists, you’d need corroborating hard evidence like a body, teeth, or bones.”

some of my friends (all grown men) were scared, s*&#less when they encounter this “thing” Bigfoot came out of nowhere while they were fishing in an undisclosed reservoir. Cant see the name of the place, because its a gated and protected area. Anyways, we been fishing there a lot and seen too many things that we shouldn’t have seen. but those guys and that picture are hilarious. If you found bigfoot, and have the body of it, why no more than one picture? press release? come on? And your website was down when everyone was trying to view it!!!! What-evers.
