The Ramblin’ Rangers, Bear Bones, the Black Irish Bluegrass Band, the Riders of the Purple Sage and others will soon be singing from the mountaintops. If the sound of that gets your heels kicking, you won’t want to miss the Big Bear Bluegrass Festival on July 26, 2008. It’s a 13-hour band bonanza in Big Bear, and Big Bear Vacations is offering a related accommodations package.
Deal: Book a cabin for two nights or more, including the Saturday night of the event, and you’ll get free all-day passes for you and your family. If you want to catch just the daytime portion of the event (instead of both the day and evening concerts), you can opt for just the Dayfest tickets instead plus a $50 gas card.
Accommodations range from $125 per night for a two-person studio cabin to about $1,000 per night for a six-bedroom house on Big Bear Lake. Your entire party, including the kids, receives free tickets to the festival.
If you want to make it a day trip or go with other lodging options, you can buy tickets to the event only. Admission to the Dayfest is $10 per person, or a combination ticket (for both day and evening events) is $35 per person. Sponsored by Keller Williams and Big Bear Vacations, the event benefits a forest restoration program by local group Forest Aid.
