Air quality has been, and continues to be, a concern for athletes and tourists attending the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics. Is it the summer heat that’s causing thick smog conditions or is it just a haze? The air-quality levels in Beijing are measured by an Air Pollution Index. The Wall Street Journal’s “The Numbers Guy” explains the API measurements and how they compare with U.S. standards.
Here are some additional Web resources to give you a better idea of what the air quality is like in Beijing during the Olympics.

The air looks terrible and no way do I believe ‘officials’ when they say it is OK for the athletes.
It’s downright dangerous for them, and may well affect the results.
CCP is a joke and in no way represents the Chinese people.

the air quality is pathetic. we should have never chosen such a disgusting environment for our olympics, and i know for a fact that it will affect runners etc.
