Beer lovers’ airport guide for St. Patrick’s Day travel

Are you going to be stuck traveling for business when you’d rather be taking a half-day and celebrating St. Patrick’s Day down at the pub? Fear not, green-clad travelers: St Patrick’s Day can be celebrated in airports too. CheapFlights has created an airport guide for beer lovers. I love that the beer guide identifies terminal numbers so travelers can get to the onsite brewpubs and bars as quickly as they can. If you’re unfamiliar with these airports, Airport Terminal Maps can help you plan your journey to the bar in advance. If you really love beer, you could fly through some of these airports just to have a pint. The Jet Rock Bar and Grill (Concourses B, D and F) in Philadelphia (PHL) has 48 beers on draft. Portland (PDX) boasts an award-winning Organic Tree-Hugger Porter.

On my weekly travel back home from Toronto to Raleigh-Durham, there is one place I stop every time - the small airport bar in the remote gates of Terminal 1. It’s not this bar is fancy or has a plethora of choices, nor it’s location (you have to take a shuttle to get to the terminal). It’s because of Lynne. Lynne is a sweetheart who always has a smile on her face, listens to your stories, and shares hers. And she remembers your name and your drink!

You can say that she makes you feel a little bit at home when you’re miles from it.

Check out the Brooklyn Bar in Terminal C at Newark Liberty International Airport. Lots of great Brooklyn Brewery beers on tap!
