Barefoot paradise in Zihautanejo

If a resort is promoting honeymoons chances are high that you’ve found a decent place. Here’s a boutique-style resort known for providing a luxurious experience. Flip through their photo gallery and you won’t be surprised that both Travel + Leisure and Conde Nast Traveler gave the Hotel Villa del Sol high praise—but you’ll still want to see for yourself.

Deal: The “Barefoot Luxury” package includes 3 nights accommodation in a mini-suite (instead of their smallest/cheapest room) and $100 spa credit for $1080, based on double-occupancy. The price comes to $1317 after taxes.

Caveat: Deluxe mini-suites go for $360/night throughout summer ($480 during high season in winter) so the special is only giving you the $100 spa-credit above normal rates.

When: Throughout June based on availability.

Why Go: To have a honeymoon experience without getting married. Also, this is low season, so if you’re in the mood to splurge for an even bigger and better suite now is the time to snag the lowest rates.

Why Not: The thought of beaches and lush tropical settings surrounding your room does not sound like a good time.
