Sen. Barack Obama got to experience a flight glitch just like the rest of us Americans this morning when the Midwest MD80 he and his entourage were riding between Chicago and Charlotte, North Carolina, had to make an unplanned stop in St. Louis for mechanical reasons.

According to foxnews.com’s Embed Producers blog, Obama gave his address by phone to the expectant Charlotte crowd from the Drury Inn near Lambert-St. Louis International Airport. The Drury Inn is rated No. 16 of all the St. Louis hotels on Trip Advisor, but at least the fans in Charlotte got the economic discussion they showed up for.

How nice. With this story LA Times is able to give people the feeling: Obama is just like us! Obama has the same struggles and issues like us! Obama lives a life just like us! For some reason, if George W. Bush or John McCain should have suffered a delay in getting a car back from a repair garage, I doubt the words “just like the rest of us Americans” would have featured.
