American Airlines’ sale on Mexico fares

We were thinking about heading to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, in February — weather-wise, it’s a great time to be there, plus it happens to be when a relative has a time share available for us to use. But we just returned from Costa Rica and don’t feel we can afford another splash-out for international flights so soon.

But American Airlines is trying to convince us otherwise, it seems….

Deal: With its current Mexico sale, you can fetch a midweek flight to Los Cabos (SJD) from LAX for $92 one-way, pre-tax, per person. After taxes and fees, that price is bumped up to $280 round-trip per person, but that’s still better than other airlines are offering for that time period.

Other one-way, pre-tax trips to Mexico from LAX included under this deal start at $120 to Puerto Vallarta (PRV) and $145 to Cancun (CUN).

When: Book by 9:59 p.m. Pacific time on Jan. 5 for travel commencing by Feb. 26. You must return by March 2.

Note: The sale fares will be found for travel on Monday through Thursday only. For Acapulco (ACA), you’ll need to travel on Monday, Wednesday or Thursday for the discounted rates.
