Virgin America wants you to see their planes to believe the hype. Their “Flying is Believing Fares” are going on now. One-way tickets between Los Angeles and San Francisco start at $39 or $78 round-trip (pre-tax). This is $5 less than their previously low fares to SFO. First class tickets are also on sale starting at $149 each-way. And don’t forget, flights to D.C. start October 24, 2007.
Sample one-way fares and new routes dates:
Los Angeles to San Francsico (SFO): $39
Los Angeles to New York (JFK): $139
Los Angeles to Washington D.C. (IAD): $119 Begins Oct. 24
San Francisco to Las Vegas (LAS): $44 Begins Oct. 10
Why Go: The swankest main cabins flying domestic today. 3,000 MP3s on board and 110v power at every seat.
Caveat: This might not work for business travelers that have to be at an early morning meeting, or weekenders rushing back Monday morning. When I checked for a Monday morning in October, the first flight was $79. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday first flights were $39, however.
When: Book by Sep. 27 for travel to be completed by Feb.12 2008
Blackout dates: Nov. 16, 17, 20 – 26, and Dec. 14, 2007 through Jan, 2008
Contact: Virgin America, (877) 359-8474 (reservations by phone cost $5)
