EXPIRED: Last-minute Oktoberfest deal on Lufthansa

The famed German beer-slinging brat-eating festival is nearly upon us. This year marks the 174th Oktoberfest and it will take place between September 22 and October 7 in Munich, Germany. Lufthansa is doing their part to celebrate by offering cheap flights until September 6. If you can’t find a friend to travel with, go anyway, Oktoberfest is known for being a great place to make new friends.

Deal: Lufthansa is offering discounted round-trip ticket between Los Angeles and Dusseldorf, Munich or Berlin. Make sure you call (1-866-266-5588), press 4 and mention the promotional code TZFALL to get the discounted rate.

When I called I had to be insistent that the sale hadn’t expired yet, the reservation agent was confused because of several sales they’re running. Lufthansa flies out of LAX on select dates through October only before their winter schedule kicks in. I found a ticket to Munich with a base price of $399 or $644 after taxes and fees. This itinerary left Oct. 3 and returned Oct. 10.

Note for families: Children under 6 accompanied by their parents are allowed in the tents but have to leave at 8 p.m.
