Air New Zealand knows how to put on an airfare sale (LAX-AKL $760 RT)

Amanda Jones and friend Debbie Harkness wanted an adventure without tents and backpacks but with lodges and good food. So they connected with a professional tour group for a four-day, 51-mile hike through Queen Charlotte Track on the South Island. Here, Harkness takes a plunge off the dock at Punga Cove Resort, a family-style lodge.

Three reasons why Air New Zealand raised the bar today for other airlines promoting a sale:

1. The promo price includes taxes.

2. The sale page shows how many seats are still available on the sale.

3. When I tested the sale the promo price was easily found, there were plenty of them and the website worked when I tested the deal.

Deal: So, what’s the sale? Los Angeles or San Francisco to Auckland for $760 round trip.

When: From Los Angeles, depart May 2-31 and return May 8-June 14, 2009

We stayed at a beautiful little Bed and Breakfast outside of Queenstown called Trelawn Place. Wonderful hosts, and outstanding views over the Shotover River.
